Vendariz vs VendSoft

An honest comparison, written by one of the two.

If you have a mixed fleet of older hardware you want read automatically today, and you are past the point where price per unit is the deciding factor, VendSoft is a proven choice and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Credit where it is due

What VendSoft does better than us

We are not going to pretend VendSoft is bad software. Here is where they beat us, stated plainly, so you can weigh the rest of this page knowing we did not hide it.

Telemetry breadth, on the entry tier

VendSoft includes telemetry integrations on its $19 plan, not as a top-tier upsell, and reaches more providers than we do. We have four adapters registered and three enabled, but only one proven against a live account. If you want a mixed fleet of Crane, Coinco and Cantaloupe hardware read tomorrow morning, they are a path that demonstrably works and we are not there yet.

Documentation and support content

Their operator-facing documentation is the best in the category — genuinely useful articles on machine economics, smart machines and integration setup. Ours is thinner, and that is a real difference in how quickly you get unstuck at 6am.

Real-time push, where we poll

Their Nayax lane receives transactions as they happen. Ours polls. For freshness alone, theirs wins.

They have 500+ operators. We are onboarding our first.

Track record is a feature. If you need a vendor that has already been wrong in every way a vending platform can be wrong, and fixed it, that is an argument for them.

The real difference

Where we are structurally different

Two independent readings that agree

A provider feed tells you what the hardware reported. A disciplined restock count tells you what actually left the shelf. We hold both and reconcile them, and a feed supersedes a count only when completeness is provable. A platform whose baseline is the feed cannot check the feed against anything.

The baseline is the count, so a market with no telemetry is a first-class citizen

Every real fleet is mixed — some units instrumented, some not, from vending machines to smart coolers. Because our numbers start from the restock count rather than the feed, an uninstrumented market is not a blind spot. That is an architectural choice, not a feature we added.

Offline-first field work, not offline-tolerant

Sessions, trips and mileage are captured on the device and synced later, because a basement with no signal is a normal Tuesday, not an edge case. Retrofitting that onto a request-response app is a rewrite, not a release.

Pricing that gets cheaper per unit as you grow

Our per-market rate tapers in bands. Theirs is flat within a tier and steps at the boundary, so their entry customer pays their highest per-machine rate. We are $15/mo for twenty markets where their comparable tier is $49 for thirty.

So which one should you actually buy?

Pick Vendariz if…

  • You run three markets and a spreadsheet, and $19/mo before your first dollar back is the reason you have not started.
  • Your fleet is mixed — some units report, some never will — and you want one back office over all of it.
  • Your field work happens where there is no signal.
  • You want the mileage log, the receipts and the statements to come out of the same system as the restocks, instead of a shoebox.
Request early access

Pick VendSoft if…

  • You need a broad set of telemetry providers reading reliably today, and you are not willing to be an early adopter about it.
  • You need API access or a BI connector into Looker Studio or Power BI.
  • You want a vendor with hundreds of operators already on it.

That is a genuine recommendation, not a rhetorical one. If those are your constraints today, we would rather you were happy elsewhere than unhappy here.

What you can bring across

CSV import covers markets, inventory items, vehicles and mileage logs. Layouts are rebuilt — usually faster than expected, because you can fork a master layout rather than start from a blank grid. Historical sales do not migrate; the honest expectation is that your Vendariz history starts on day one and your old reports stay where they are.

Three markets free, forever. See for yourself.

No card, and a real plan that never expires — with 14 days of Pro features on top to start. We are onboarding operators by hand while the platform is in invite-only beta.
